Isabella Zhu

Editor-in-Chief

Isabella came to MUN through an interest in global issues and the chance to engage with people who hold different perspectives. Over time, she moved toward the journalism side of the conference, where writing, storytelling, and meeting people sit together. What has kept her involved is the opportunity to capture discussions that carry real weight and share stories extending beyond the committee rooms.

As Editor-in-Chief, she is most looking forward to working with the press team, exchanging creative ideas, and seeing the publication take shape across the week. She wants the team to feel comfortable bringing their own ideas forward.

Outside of MUN, Isabella enjoys music and getting involved in different projects. She is someone who likes trying new things, especially when they involve working with others.

Ayres Lin

Member

Ayres first joined MUN to improve her public speaking skills and to get over the fear of speaking in front of a crowd. Over time, she began to enjoy meeting new people from around the world, which is one of the main reasons she kept going.

She is mostly looking forward to meeting people and gaining more experience from the press team. As a press member, she hopes to contribute through social media posts, interviews, and learning new skills. She also wants to show delegates that MUN goes beyond speeches and amendments by capturing the behind-the-scenes side of the conference.

Outside of MUN, Ayres is involved in sports, cheerleading, track, and basketball outside of school. She describes himself as curious and adventurous.

Jennifer Sun

Member

Jennifer has always been interested in understanding perspectives and analyzing why people think or act the way they do. Both MUN and journalism let her explore different viewpoints and develop critical thinking skills while gaining a better understanding of global issues.

She is looking forward to creating artistic and entertaining posts and hopes to provide the press team with strong posting ideas.

Outside of MUN, Jennifer enjoys singing and drawing, hobbies she says reflect her creative side and her attention to detail.

Maisha Lamshane

Member

Maisha was drawn to press because it gave her the opportunity to practise her photography and video skills within an MUN setting, and because she would be working alongside others with similar interests.

This is her first international MUN, and she is looking forward to learning new skills and meeting different kinds of people. As a press member, she hopes to contribute her photography skills and help create content for social media and the THIMUN website.

Outside of MUN, Maisha works on passion projects such as fashion photoshoots and leads her school’s photography club. She describes herself as a team player and creative overall.

Mika Chiang

Member

Mika’s interest in THIMUN started with the location itself. Singapore was a country she wanted to see, and that was enough to get her in the door. She came in wanting to see more interesting ways of promoting the event, to learn from the people around her, and to help pull in more participants.

For Mika, a conference like this reveals how a person works. Five days in Singapore with the same team, past the event itself and away from school, shows another side of that.

Olivia Hung

Member

What first drew Olivia to MUN was the opportunity to debate with people, share her opinions, and hear different perspectives. She also enjoys meeting new people and making friends, which is what keeps her involved.

She is most looking forward to seeing delegates enjoy the team’s content, particularly when they like and repost the Instagram posts. Knowing that something the team created caught someone’s attention and made their conference experience more memorable would be the reward she is after. She hopes to create content that delegates can relate to.

Outside of MUN, Olivia enjoys snowboarding, traveling, and cheerleading. Snowboarding is her favourite because she loves the thrill and learning new tricks. She describes these hobbies as reflecting her adventurous and outgoing personality.

Tyrone is a junior eyeing communications and marketing as a university major, and the press team provides him a way to test-run that interest before committing to it. Rather than reading about the field, he wanted to spend a week doing the work itself: writing for a publication, building posts for social media, and seeing how an event gets promoted to the people.

At the conference, he is mostly looking forward to the networking. Meeting delegates, chairs, and the other members of the press team from schools he would otherwise never cross paths with is the part he expects to get the most out of.

Outside of MUN, he has recently been getting into writing. The press team is a chance to keep at it, but with a deadline attached.
